Crew Updates

Both Looper and Counsell had surgery to repair a torn meniscuss in their right knees. I Would be surprised if both were not back with the Brewers next year. Counsell is a free agent, but will most likely not come as cheap as last year given his contributions this past season. Looper has a mutual option.

Mike Burns was outrighted to Nashville to open a spot on the 40 man.

The Atro's are looking to do even worse in the future:

If my 2nd grade math skills are correct, only 128 days until pitchers and catchers report. Feburary 20th. It took me like 20 minutes to figure that out.

Tickets are going up a few bucks for next year for most areas. Brewers tickets are still 4$ under the national average. I'm more than willing to pay the few extra bucks to field a winning team. I'm chalking this year up as a speed bump...

God, please don't let the series be the Yankee's vs. Phillies. I don't know if I could watch that. I think I might hate the Phillies more than the Yankee's if that's possible. This may be due to the following formula:

Corey Hart + Jason Werth = Edge look alikes + tractor tattoos x too tall jones - bad hair + moronic statements +bad entrance music > an ugly wife = I hate the Phillies

I figured you'd love the Astros manager search.

Did you see the thing a week or so ago about Sheets? Gord Ash had mentioned that they have had conversations with his agent periodically - didn't sound like anything serious, but I guess the door is open. I had the feeling from stuff written by Haudricourt that there was animosity there after last season. Guess not making the playoffs vs. not getting paid for a season changes all that.

I heard that Clown is looking to get a Yost jersey if he gets hired.

I'm hoping on a Yankees/Dodgers Series. I could really care less about any of the teams left and who wins it.

I'm just looking forward to being able to stand up give Yost a standing ovation like I used to to make Clown mad.

Ha, you would do the same for Weeks. Very disturbing.

I hate Yost with every fiber of my being. I'd love to see Garner or Yost back managing in the central. Sounds good to me.

Weeks is different. I enjoy standing and applauding his natural athletic gifts and limitless potential.

I did see the thing about Sheets. Even with his injury prone blister / dick pinch bullshit I would still not mind seeing him back. You knew it was always going to be a quality start.

Sheets, Gallardo, Looper?, Davis, Narveson

I really don't think Suppan will be a starter next year. I'll take that lineup. The problem is you need to have a replacement for sheets for his yearly DL stint.

I think Parra and Bush are getting traded.

Davis, as in Doug Davis?

Clown said...

Yeah, I have a feeling he'll be back.

Obviuosly, Narveson is a longshot, but I still ahve a really good feeling about him. I think he's gonna blow shit up in spring.

Narveson looked pretty good at the end of the season. I could see him in there if they don't get the 2 starters they are looking for (and Parra and/or Bush don't get traded).

Reading all the info that's out there on Rick Petersen (or ..son), I would think that if he gets hired, the Crew would not get rid of Parra. People keep calling Parra a head case and I continue to read about Petersen's Jedi mind tricks. I firmly believe that Parra has one more year here and that Suppan will start the year in the rotation. If what you guys have been talking about is what Melvin deems as "getting pitching help," this team is screwed for 2010. There needs to be something more drastic than bringing back Sheets and getting Double-D. That may make the Nats a better team, but not the Brewers... there WILL be a significant trade...BOOK IT!

I'm just shooting low so that my expectations aren't great when they aren't able to make an amazing deal. This way when they do, it's all gravy.
