If you're new here, or you forgot... I like sports, hobos, Junk Truckin', swearing, proper urinal etiquette, crappy Photoshops and Vladamir Putin being shirtless. (Maybe I should avoid that last one now). I also may or may not be a real Clown. That about catches us up from the last decade, right?
Brewers
I had a bunch of happy shiny bullshit written and then we decided to decline the option on William Contreras. I got pissed off and punched my keyboard, which dislodged a beer nut and caused a chain reaction deleting everything.
I went through the same grieving process as everyone. Disappointment, anger, frustration, alcohol poisoning. Although, let's all be honest and say that we saw the decline after winning 14 in a row. It just did not seem like the same team and we started falling into the 'ole Brewers can't hit for shit mode.
I did really still believe we could beat the Dodgers though. We had already done it 6 times, what's 4 more? Or 1, just 1? Nope, bed shitting time. I know the Dodgers have a huge payroll and we don't, but is that really why we got smoked? The Dodgers peaked and we laid down faster than your mom meeting Ernest Borgnine.
So, we're really doing the arbitration thing with Contreras? He hasn't proved himself enough that we feel saving less than 1 million is worth bad feelings all around? He had a bit of a down year hitting, with a busted ass hand, but did so much more. I feel like he is the real heart of this team, not gleepy, zero mic skills, Yelich. I can't excuse this level of cheapness, after so much additional income from years of being in the playoffs. Maybe that's not as much as I'd like to think? Fans have also showed up for this team year after year and spent money. I feel like keeping him happy and the team dynamic intact, is more important than what amounts to a small amount of cash in baseball terms.
Milwaukee Radio
The Milwaukee radio rotation continues. I used to listen to 105.7 The Fan, until they fell apart. Then I started listening to 97.3 The Game. Specifically Steve Czaban in the morning, but I know a lot of people found him off-putting. I liked the format of the Game, as it wasn't 24\7 droning on about sports. Either way, he got shit- canned (along with others) and the channel is now bad music for idiots, that you could hear on any number of other garbage stations, also for idiots. Yes, I do listen to plenty of music, but it's not Adult Contemporary or whatever the fuck they are going for. No station should ever insult Journey by playing Taylor Swift after. Is smacking someone with a floppy shoe a threat? Asking for a friend.
I've switched back to The Fan and it's fine. I do enjoy the YouTube feed in the morning, as you can send live chats instead of texting. This was more of a vent, thanks for listening.
